Home Charge point Grant (renters & flat owners) - What You need to know
If you live in Scotland and own or lease an electric vehicle (EV), you may be eligible for financial support to install a home charge point. Backed by the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV), this grant helps reduce the upfront cost of installation.
Scheme funded until at least 31 March 2026, with any changes given at least 4 weeks’ notice
What’s Covered?
The OZEV grant covers up to 75% of the total cost, capped at £350 per socket.
How the Process Works:
1. Choose an OZEV - authorised installer - they’ll provide a quote and check your eligibility.
2. Eligibility check - you may be asked to complete a brief online form.
3. Claim submission - if eligible, your installer will submit the grant application for you.
4. Discount applied directly - the approved amount is deducted from your final invoice.
Key Points:
Only one grant is available per vehicle and household. The program supports both homeowners and renters in flats. Separate grants exist for on-street parking setups that need pavement - crossing solutions.

Landlord & infrastructure grants - What You need to know
Landlords
- Same terms: £350 per socket or 75% of cost, whichever’s lower
- Landlords can claim up to 200 residential or 100 commercial charge points per financial year
Infrastructure Grants
Covers broader infrastructure (wiring, electrical works)
Pays 75% of costs, up to:
- £500 per parking space
- £30,000 total per site for residential landlords or £15,000 total, £500 per space + £350 per socket for SMEs under staff/fleet scheme
