Do you serve my area?
We work in the whole of the Central Belt, including frequent jobs in Livingstone, Edinburgh and in some cases, as far as Glasgow.
Do you have a callout charge for your electrical contractor service?
We have a £100+VAT callout charge payable for any work we complete. There is no callout charge for a site visit for the purpose of providing a quote.
Do you charge by the hour or per electrical repairs or installation job?
This depends on the specific project. We will make it clear in the quote we provide. Typically, we can’t provide a fixed quote for an electrical fault-finding job, as it is impossible to tell how long this might take, but we can usually quote for installations and similar tasks.
How much is a complete home rewire?
The price of a full house rewire will depend on the property. For a standard 3-bed property the prices start at £2700 + VAT all inclusive.
Do you provide an emergency electrician out-of-hours service?
Yes we do! We provide a 24/7 emergency service and we have been known to come out to restore power to homes late at night and on holiday dates.
Do you charge mileage?
We charge mileage or travel time for jobs that are over 1 hour of travel, unless we work to an all-inclusive quote we have provided.
What is “SELECT” electrical companies accreditation?
SELECT is the trade association for electrical contractors in Scotland. Dating back to 1900, it was actually the first electrical trade association in the world! To be approved and accredited by Select, a contractor, whether a domestic electrician or a commercial electrician, has to regularly pass a strict technical assessment to ensure they work safely and according to up to date standards. Select-accredited electricians have to abide by a code of practice, which also includes a complaint and disciplinary procedure.
